Wittgenstein I
Tractatus. What is meaningful? Defining the world in totality of facts;
Elementary: Indivisible and independent (logic atomism)
Complex: combo of element. facts (constituents)
Thought: expresses state of affairs, if it occurs its true
Wittgenstein II
Philosophical based on language. Meaning is decided based on how we decide to use language. Logical positivism is rejected. No sense data.
Russel’s paradox
Russel wanted to ground mathematic in logic. Problem in logic, set of all elements that are set can or can’t contain themselves.
Limit of the sayable
Wittgenstein believed meaningful is not importance, there are things that can’t be put to words, but didn’t deny existence. We can show them (love, courage)
