Realism: There is a physical world that can be understood

Objectivity: Knowledge of physical reality doesn’t depend on the observer

Truth: scientific statements are true when the correspond to reality

Rationality: Scientific statements aren’t arbitrary but justified

Deductive reasoning

A

Starts from known statements and deduces new conclusions. Guaranteed to be true if known statements are true. Rationalism

A
