A
View in philosophy that human knowledge is information about how to cope with the world. Not a passive mirror of reality nor subjective construction.

Methods of gathering knowledge:

- Tenacity: Assumptions held bc been around for long time.
- Authority: Consulting ‘experts’
- A priori: own reason and logic, without feeling need to verify. As well as intuitive
- Scientific. Empiricaly tested
Pierce; no difference between these 4 methods. All help cope with the world
