1. lorazepam/diazepam: decreases severity of withdrawal
2. anticonvulsants, antiseizure: decreases risk of seizure

A
Liver damage (cirrhosis): irreversible
- at risk for acute toxic syndrome from toxins built up
watch for bleeding (NSAIDS, warfarin)
