How does the reactive winds hear system generate warnings?

A

Generated by FACs. Input from ADIRS, AOA sensors, power setting etc. FAC calculates AOA and compares to AOA threshold above which windshear is likely and recovery action is required.

A

A

From 3secs after liftoff to 1300ft RA
From 1300ft RA until 50ft RA with at least conf 1

When is the PWS online during takeoff and approach?

A

During takeoff roll to 100kts (warnings to 3nm). Inhibited 100kts to 50ft RA. Then provides warnings out to 5nm, active up to 2300ft RA.

In approach from 2300ft RA to 50ft RA (below 370ft generates cautions only).
