Wireless headphones, connecting phones to car entertainment systems and keyboard

What is bluetooth?
Wireless method of connecting devices over a short distance.
What type of waves and speed does bluetooth use?
Radio Waves - 2.4Ghz
What does pairing devices mean?
Persistent link is made between two devices.
How might devices be paired?
A device can ask for a passkey in order to pair to it – this gives a layer of security like a password.
Passkeys only need to be entered once and will be remembered by devices that are paired.
When a paired device is close enough to communicate it will say that it is connected.
What waves are used for wireless transmission?
Radio Waves for communication.
What might limit performance of wireless transmission?
Interference from objects and nearby electronic or radio devices.
What are NIC’S?
They are cards built into every networked device capable of connecting to a wireless network.
What is a Wireless Access Point?
Device that allows wireless devices to connect to a wired network using WiFI.
How does the AP connect to the router?
Via a wired network.
