White Wines Flashcards
Barone Fini Valdadige Pinot Grigio
Soft, round fruit fills the mouth with ripe, juicy flavors. A long finish glides into flavors of ripe apples and lychee.
Tenuta Luisa Friulano
Of intensive straw-yellow color; flowery, fruity flavor with a typical touch reminiscent of the characteristic flavor of bitter almonds. Resolutely dry on the palate, but thanks to the slight acidity (which distinguishes the wine), it appears round, full-bodied and velvety.
Cascina Pioiero Arneis Roero
Luminous, crystal-clear, yellow hue welcomes you into a floral-rich nose, while overtones of peaches and ripe melon flood the palate. Crisp, fresh and dry with impressively balanced acidity, followed by a ripe, juicy finish with a hint of tarragon and minerals throughout.
Snoqualmie Riesling
Aromas of spicy pear and dried apricots give way to luscious fruit and honey notes on the palate with a crisp, clean finish.
Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc
A serious, concentrated and expressive wine, it flaunts a powerful bouquet of tropical fruits layered with grapefruit and melon. The wine is crisp, balanced and elegant with a distinctive mineral note.
Edna Valley Paragon Chardonnay
An attractive bouquet of pear, ripe apple, apricot and light pineapple, with underlying brown spice notes of cinnamon and clove. This brilliant, medium-bodied wine combines a fresh mouthfeel with hints of vanilla to create an appealing acidity.
Sanford Flor de Campo Chardonnay
Straw with hints of gold in color. Tropical fruits with pineapple and pear aromas with citrus and pineapple, hints of minterality with bright acid.
Newton Red Label Chardonnay
Ripe, expressive style with a full, creamy mouthfeel. Ripe melon, tropical fruit, mango and baked apples all mingle amid the round, luscious texture.
Laguna Russian River Chardonnay
Opens with notes of apple, pear, quince and tangerine, framed by sweet undertones of Asian spice. Well-balanced and rich, it has an expressive mouthfeel and a layered, lingering finish.
Why is white wine white?
Its color can be derived from an assortment of grape varietals ranging from green, to gold, to yellowish grapes. The wine is made from the grape juice and skins. Some wines use just the juice of select red grapes, as in some champagnes.
