Whats Cloud Computing Flashcards
What’s server composed of?
+ CPU
+ RAM
+ Storage Data
+ Database, some servers have it.
+ Network.
(Page 13)
Wha is a Database?
A Data Storage which has a structured to leverage its searching.
(Page 13)
What is a network?
Cable, Routes, Switches and servers/computers connected with each other
(Page 14)
Router?
A networking device that forwards the data package between computer networks.
It works with the IP address of a computer.
Routers are used to navigate the Internet, they know where to send the packages on the Internet.
(Page 14)
Switch?
A network device that receives the package and knows where to deliver it, (Server or computer).
Work with the MAC address of the network interface.
(Page 14)
Most common problems of Local Data Center?
+ Costs of Maintenance
+ High time to replace servers
+ Scaling limits due to Capacity of servers or room.
+ Constantly monitoring (24/7)
+ The necessity to account with a Disaster Recovery.
(Page 16)
What’s Cloud Computing?
+ On-Demand Delivery.
+ Pay-As-You-Go Price (Pagas por lo que usas, no más)
+ Provisioning exactly the right size and type of computing resources that it needs.
+ Access to all resources almost instantly.
+ Simple Access to Servers, Storage, Databases, and Application Services.
+ The provider of the Cloud maintains the infrastructure (Networks, and Connected Hardware) to keep the services up.
(page 17)
What are the 3 types Cloud that you can use or implement?
- Private Cloud.
- Public Cloud.
- Hybrid Cloud.
(page 20)
Private Cloud
- Single Organization.
- Not exposed.
- Complete Control
- Security for sensitive applications.
- Meets the organization’s requirements.
(page 20)
Public Cloud
+ Provided by Thrid Party.
+ On-Demand Delivery
+ Pay-as-you-go Price
+ Get exactly what you need.
+ Access to resources almost instantly.
+ Simple Access to resources.
+ Provider maintains the infrastructure.
(page 20)
Hybrid Cloud?
+ Keeps some servers on-premise and extends some capabilities to the cloud.
+ Has control over sensitive assests into the private infrastructure.
+ Reduce costs translating some capabilities to the public cloud.
(page 20)
The 5 Characteristic of Cloud Computing?
+ On-Demand self-service. Pay just as many resources as you need them.
+ Broad Network Access. The resources are available on network and can be accessed through different platforms.
+ Multitenancy and Resource Pooling. Multiple users sharing the same infrastructure with security and privacy, so Multiple users are serviced but the same physical resource.
+ Measure services. The user pays exactly for what he uses.
(page 21)
Six advanteges of Cloud Computing?
- Trade Capital Expense (CAPEX) for Operational Expense (OPEX). Don’t own hardware and reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and OPEX.
- Benefits for massive economies of scale.
- Stop Guessing Capacity. Don’t need to worry about the capacity to grow up.
- Increase speed and agility.
- Stop expending money on running a data center.
- Go Global in minutes.
(Page 22)
What problems solves the Cloud?
+ Flexibility, change the resources as you need.
+ Cost-Effectiveness.
+ Scalability. Increase or decrease nodes as you need.
+ Elasticity. Ability to scale as you need.
+ Hig-Availability and Fault Tolerance.
+ Agility. Speed on deploy, testing, and launching software applications.

Type of Cloud Computing?
- On-Premise. you Manage All the infrastructure, from Hardware to Software/Application. There is no 3rd Party providers.
- IaaS: Infrastructure as a Service. You Manage the OS and upper level, the infrastructure (Platform), i.e: a company where you can host a virtual machine and manage it.
- PaaS: Platform as a Service. You only manage the application over a platform, publishing a Website or Webservices, over a specific platform.
- SaaS. You only manage the complete product but not the lower layers that make the software runs. Like Gmail, Zoom, etc…
