Why West Kirby Grammar School?
Adapt for WKGS - I chose Prenton High School on the National College database to do my NPQH placement a year and a half ago and I spent a week here which I very much enjoyed. I was looking for an outstanding school with a higher proportion of students on FSM and from ethnic background and I wanted to do an analysis of the Pastoral system as most of my experience was on the Curriculum side. I came here just after your last OFSTED and I was very impressed by the school and by the way it raised aspirations amongst all students and disadvantaged pupils in particular. I was impressed by the calm family-like atmosphere around the school. I felt I fitted in very well and very quickly. When I left I decided that if the post came up I would definitely apply for it.
Focus on “ how successful are the house system & pastoral teams in ensuring that the learning of every child is not hindered by their background/circumstances? - fed back to Mrs Dixon & SLT at Upton & also discussed at NPQH final interview.
