Headteacher, why? Flashcards
Why have you applied for this post?
I want to become a Headteacher. I am passionate about making a difference.
Being a Headteacher is the ultimate chance within the profession and I feel I am ready to take on the challenge. I believe you have to be motivational and aspirational.
I want to help students reach their full potential and influence & encourage them to move forward and to aim high
I want to have the scope to improve their life chances – more crucial than ever when 21% of 16-24 year old students are unemployed (that’s just below a million)
I want to shape the future, share my vision and lead a team to put it into practice
Being a Head has been my ambition for a long time – it means being able to implement my vision, something I have already had a taste of in my current post
Core value of my vision: “one world learning together”, Social justice, developing Global Citizens of the future who are culturally sensitive & respectful of others, life-long learners who are adaptable and who are able to develop new skills to meet changing patterns of employment for example it’s now suggested that many of our young people may have on average 19 different jobs in their working life. Schools need to prepare students for this changing working landscape.
I want to lead and develop staff and the leadership team ,shape the learning environment.
It’s a very rewarding job, a challenging job and I feel I am ready to become a Headteacher.
