What is Amok?
Common in Malaysia- outburst of violent and sometimes homicidal acts after a period of brooding or depression. Followed by deep sleep, amnesia and in some cases suicide.

What is Brain fag?
Common in West Africa (males). They have cognitive difficulties, blurred vision, and head and neck pain. Most commonly affects males who complain of ‘too much thinking’.
What is Dhat?
Common in India (males). Severe anxiety that they are loosing semen in urine, associated with whitish discolouration of the urine, sexual dysfunction and feelings of weakness and exhaustion. It is attributed to excessive masturbation or intercourse.

What is Koro?
Southwest India (males again). Sudden onset of fear that the penis is retracting into the body and causing death. Mainly occurs in night and usually linked to sexual guilt.. Koro uh oh penis inside me
What is Latah?
Females- echolalia, coprolalia (inappropriate language repetition), echopraxia (imitations of others actions), automatic obedience or trance like behaviour all in response to a sudden fright or trauma.
Latah LALA so female and… LALA is repetition etc
What is susto?
Loss of soul from the body after a certain fright, leaving the body vulnerable to disease.
Susto- see ya soul and susceptible to different diseases.
What is Piblokto?
This is described in women living in the arctic circle and there is a sudden onset of crying and hysteria then they may take off their clothes and the attacks can last a few hours. There is also amnesia after the event. Thought to be associated with vitamin A toxicity as eskimos ingest large amounts of this through ingestion of animal liver and kidneys.
