How about presence of occasional or transitory hallucinations?? Are these symptoms of delusional disorder?

A

Yes, as long as they aren’t typically schizophrenic and these only form a small part of the overall clinical picture.

What is paraphrenia?

A

Organised system of paranoid delusions with or without hallucinations (pos symptom) BUT without deterioration of intellect or personality (neg symptoms).

What is De Clerambault’s syndrome?

A

Erotomania- the delusion that someone (famous or higher social status), is in love with them. They communicate with them through the tv etc. They can’t declare love so they communicate it through secret signs /communication.

What is Capgras syndrome?

A

It is a delusional misidentification that their partner or relative or whatever has been replaced by an imposter. It occurs more in females.2:3 MF

What is Orthello syndrome?

A

Delusional belief that your partner is having an affair/sex with others, no evidence and it misinterprets minor incident. This is associated with alcohol dependence and sexual dysfunction. There is a risk of stalking and violence.

A

Different people are the same person who changes disguise, they often believe that they are being persecuted by that person.

A

What is folie a deux?

A

This is an induced delusional disorder psychosis shared by 2 people. The treatment for the victim is separation and the delusional one needs meds etc.

What is Ekbom’s syndrome?

A

This is the delusion that you are infected with parasites, associated with formication (tactile hallucination). These people are at a risk of self harm, they usually present to derm. If they’re home or house is infested it is called cleptoparasitosis.
