Q

Which muscle does the common fibular nerve follow the course of through the popliteal fossa?

A

16
Q

What is a Baker’s cyst, and what is its major cause?

A

Swelling of the semimembranosus bursa, usually due to arthritis.

17
Q

How may a popliteal aneurysm present? Why?

A

Leg anaesthesia.
The aneurysm causes swelling in the popliteal fossa, but the fascia is only slightly extensible. Therefore, the tibial nerve is compressed, causing leg anaesthesia.
