What are the 5 general project phases?
Phase 1. Conception phase
Phase 2. Definition phase
Phase 3. Organizing phase
Phase 4. Implementation phase
Phase 5. Project clean up phase
The above phases need not strictly follow a sequence…rather they overlap. Sometimes overlap is done deliberately in the interest of compressing the overall project schedule. Still some would encourage natural growth.
Goods, services, persons, technology and other resources provided to an activity with the expectation that they will produce outputs.
Inputs
Specific products or services which as activity is expected to produce from its inputs in order to achieve the planned objectives.
Outputs
Overall outcome of the specific effects of projects or programs.
Impacts
Project M&E should design to answer the 4 following criteria about the project:
• Effectiveness
• Efficiency
• Relevance
• Impact
• Tracking progress according to the plans
• Routinely gather the information
• Corrective actions taken/adjustments
Monitoring
•Differences between expectations and results
• Success or failure: some judgment
• Identify factors to influence future projects or services
Evaluation

- Goal-free
