whats the difference between STEMI, NSTEMI AND unstable angina
what is Atherosclerosis
It is a build up of fats , CHOLESTEROL and in and on the artial wall. This build up is called plaque causing the arteries to narrow and block blood flow

stable plaques vs unstable
stable plaques are asymptomatic untill the patient is stressed , as with exercise
when unstable you will experience symptoms such as heart pain
Whats the difference between STEMI and NSTEMI
if it ends in STATIN what dose this mean medication?
it lower lipids
HMG CoA reductase inhibitors, therefore blocks liver synthesis of cholesterol
what dose Ezetimibe medication do ?
it inhibits the uptake of dietary cholesterol across the small intestine
what are the key risk with taking a STATIN ?
impaired liver function and myopathies such as myositis(swelling ) and rhabdomyolysis (Muscle breakdown)
what are some other lipids lower drugs that arent STATINs ?
Nicotinic acid, fish oil, fibrates, bile acid binding resins
