Meds for RH
NSAIDS
Prednisone (Deltasone)
Methotrexate (Rheumatrex) - DMARD nonbiologic
Infliximab (Remicade) - DMARD biological
chronic gout can lead to this disease
Secondary Osteoarthritis (OA)
RH can lead to this disease
Osteoporosis
What is the main factor that causes inflammation and joint destruction in RA and how?
-TNF- tumor necrosis factor
- TNF promotes neutrophil and macrophages infiltration into the joints
- this causes joint destruction
