What does the GTT test show us in terms of glucose pathology?
how fast/well insulin is being released to clear the sugar
What is a normal blood glucose range?
4-6 mmol/L
what type of fluid do we give for someone who has HHS?
- 0.9% isotonic solution - for the plasma
- 0.45% NS to help shift K+ back into the cells
What are 4 indicators that someone has DKA and not HHS?
- type 1 diabetic
- bs is 19-28 mmol/L + symptoms
