Week 5: UE Nervous and Cutaneous Distribution Flashcards
spinal segment C3, C4, supraclavicular n.
supply an area of skin from behind the angle of the mandible superiorly obliquely to the midline anteriorly, as low as the second rib; and over the anterior, superior and posterior aspects of the shoulder.
posterior cutaneous n. of forearm
C7, C8
It supplies skin of dorsum of forearm
lower/inferior lateral cutaneous n. of the arm
C5, C6
supplies skin of the lower lateral aspect of the arm.
Lateral cutaneous n. of the forearm
supplies skin of the radial border of the forearm.
C5, 6, and 7
posterior cutaneous n. of the arm
C7
supplies skin over the dorsal aspect of the arm and down to the elbow
origin: radial nerve
medial cutaneous n. of the arm
C8, T1, T2
supplies sensory innervation to skin of the medial arm.
Identify the nerve highlighted in purple:
C5
intercostobrachial nerve
supplies skin of the upper half of medial and posterior arm.
joins the medial cutaneous nerve of the arm,
recurrent branch of the median n.
C6, 7, and 8
supplies the skin of the palmar part of digits 1-3 and lateral part of digit 4. This varies of course.
intercostobrachial n.
C8, T1, T2
supplies upper half and medial posterior of arm
medial cutaneous n. of forearm
C8, T1
anterior branch supplies the medial part of the front of the forearm down to wrist
posterior branch supplies the skin of the upper 3/4 of the posterior forearm
C6
upper and lower lateral cutaneous n. of arm, branches of the radial nerve.
upper supplies skin of lower part of deltoid
lower supplies skin of lower lateral part of arm
radial n. in the spiral groove
ulnar n.
C8, T1, C7
radial n. superficial branch
supplies skin of lateral (radial) half of dorsum of hand and thumb, proximal paart of dorsal part of digits 2 and 3, part of digit 4
deep radial n.
supplies dorsal wrist joints
