Allows joints to move in their mid-range to minimize stress on ligaments and articular surfaces
Effective for the individuals activities of daily living.
Allows the individual to avoid injury.
Name 4 things that affect postural development?
Muscle tonus
Pelvic angle
Joint position and mobility
Bony contours
Name 2 main causes of poor posture?
Positional factors
Structural factors
Name 2 poor posture positional factors?

Respiratory positions
Pain
Positional factors can be managed

Flat back posture
Scoliosis
Hyperlordotic posture
Kypholordotic posture
What is the difference between Varus and Valgus leg postures?
Varus – femur is straight, medial side of knees are jammed together, Bowleggedness
Valgus – extreme angle of femur, effects mobility, lateral side of knees are jammed together, Knock knees
What is scoliosis?
Lateral curves best viewed from behind.
Name 5 causes of Lordosis.
