Week 5: GEN-N-DOWN Flashcards
What is the purpose of GEN-N-10?
To reduce plant load at power to 1%
What are the boration requirements of the PZR? How is this maintained?
PZR boron concentration must be within 50 ppm of RCS.
PZR boron concentration is equalized with the RCS via spray actuation by engaging the backup heaters.
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 80% and 60% RTP?
A condenser demin will be taken out of service at each power level.
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 50% RTP?
Reduce to 2 circ pumps
Reduce to 1 MFW pump
Reduce to 2 cond pumps
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 40% RTP?
Stop both heater drain pumps
Reduce to 2 condenser demins
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 20% RTP?
Transfer house loads to the startup XFMR
Take 1 demin out of service
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 15% RTP?
Transfer SG Level control to MFW bypass valves
Steam dumps to steam pressure mode
Control rods to manual
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 10% RTP?
Verify P-10, P-13, and P-7
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 5% RTP?
Trip Main Turbine and Generator
What GEN-N-10 steps will be taken at 1% RTP?
Start S/U FW pump
Stop 2nd MFW pump
What is the purpose of GEN-N-11?
To change the plant status from 1% to subcritical.
Describe the major steps of GEN-N-11.
Insert Control Banks
Verify P-6 off at < 10^-10 Amps on IR
Describe the purpose of GEN-N-12.
To cooldown the RCS from Hot Standby to between 335F and 345F (Hot Shutdown)
Describe the major steps of GEN-N-12.
Open Steam Dumps
Stop 2 RCPs
Depressurize RCS with PZR sprays
At RCS pressure < 1000 psig, isolate accumulators
What permissives are encountered in GEN-N-12?
P-12 during the cooldown
P-11 during RCS depressurization
