What are “being skills”?
where coaching presence is developed through the practice of relational qualities. They are used to build growth promoting relationships and represent a coach’s way of being at the most authentic.
What is mindfulness?
Nonjudgemental awareness of what is happening in the present moment. Prerequisites to what a coach does
What is empathy?
Respectful understanding of another person’s experience, including their feelings, needs, and desires.
What is warmth?
Without warmth, all attempts at empathy will fail, sincere, heartfelt desire to connect with another human being, awareness of what others are feeling or needing in the present moment, generates full engagement.
What is affirmation
Conveys acceptance and appreciation of a client’s thoughts, feelings and choices. Reframes negative energy and challenging circumstances as positive opportunities for movement and growth.
What is calm?
Step back, observe emotional frenzy in themselves and in clients and create degrees of freedom from automatic triggers. Enables them to avoid automatic responses, such as fear and anxiety.
what is zest?
By nature optimistic and hopeful, anticipates the best and generates the best, supports resilience and self efficacy
What is playfulness?
Ignites our energy and engagement with life
What is courage and authenticity?
Naming what is present to wake up client’s awareness, create connection and generate movement
