A

What is Discover?

A

Assists clients in discovering promising examples of their desired outcomes, both past and present.
Best experience: “Tell me a story about the best experience you have had dealing with such problems in the past.”- Reframes deficits into assets.

Core Values: emphasizes life giving experiences, core values, generative conditions, and heartfelt wishes as it energizes clients to learn to make new contributions and express new ways of being in the world.

Generative Conditions: recognize the totality of the whole, not just fragmented interventions. Explore environments, systems, communities, organizations, networks, movements, relationships, processes, policies, practices, structures and resources.

Three Wishes: “Tell me more about what your hopes and dreams are for the future. What would your three wishes be? Boosts energy, strengthens self efficacy. Viewed as the most important phase of the session.

A

Shifts focus to what might be, encourages left and right brain activities, making dreams come alive
Three Questions: What is life calling the client to become? What possibilities generate excitement? What is a positive core that supports the client? The client always finds the answers.

What does AI require?

A

A mix of analytical and creative activities. SMART goals are not enough. A purely analytical approach will fail if not supplemental to the process that engages the heart and imagination.
