- Produces excruciating pain (paroxysms)
- Demyelination of axon in sensory root
- Tx: put a sponge between the trigeminal nerve and the superior cerebellar artery

- eyelid falls away form surface of eyeball
- Saliva and food dribble out side of mouth
- Can’t whistle, puff out cheeks
- Loss of facial expression
