Week 1 Cerebral Hemisphere Deep Structure- Severson Flashcards
What composes the lenticular nucleus?
Putamen and globus pallidus
What are the divisions of the internal capsule?
Anterior Limb- seperates caudate nucleus from the lentiform nucleus
Genu- Located in the region of the interventricular foramen
Posterior Limb
What is the posterior limb divide into?
Lenticulothalamic portion -seperates lentiform nucleus from the thalamus
Retrolenticular- behind lentiform, carries OPTIC radiaitons
Sublenticular- below lentiform nucleus, caries OPTIC and auditory radiations
What deficits would be seen in a patient with a infarct in the retrolenticular limb of the internal capsule?
Visual deficits in the contralateral visual field
What deficits would be seen in a patient with a lesion of the lenticulothalamic portion of the posteior limb of the internal capsue?
Loss of pain, temperature, and discriminative touch?
