Week 1: axioms of comms article Flashcards
What is the difference between message and interaction?
message = a single communicational unit
Interaction = a series of messages
Why is the axiom one cannot not communicate valid? (2)
Inactivy or activity all sends a message
there is no opposite to behavior
What is the report aspect of communication?
It is related to the data so the actual content of the message

A pattern of interaction where A forces B to lead
What are the 5 axioms of human communication? (5)
- One cannot not communicate
- Every comms has a content and relationship aspect
- Nature of a relationship is dependent upon the punctuation of communicational sequences
- We communicate both digitally and analogue
- All communication interchanges are either symmetrical or complementary
