B- From the 2021 the no. of news articles about poverty has increased due to cost of living crisis
F- Factors that have caused income inequalities is low pay, gender pay gap, race and unemployment and education
LA- This essay will discuss how all these factors have contributes to income inequalities in the UK to a great extent

E- The uk has faced severe backlash for the minimum wadge compared to real living wage
EX- It is not compulsory to way the real living wadge and is only given to workers involuntary. Due to this 467,000 people in Scotland do not earn the real living wage.
A- This means that just under half a million workers arent receiving real minimum wage therfore cannot survive the cost of living crisis
F- Furthermore, Zero hour contracts are the main cause of workers experiencing low pay
E- This is due to popular companies such as Amazon employing there workers on zero hour contracts
EX- 46% of “gig workers” earn less than the minimum wadge
A- This proves that almost half of workers on zero hour contracts arent getting payed real living wadge
C- Low pay has effected income inequalities to a great extent. Many hard workers in the UK arent aving theyre financial needs met due to low pay

E- Women are more likely to work in lower paid, more insecure jobs than men.
ex- Airline companies such as TUI have admitted that they have paygaps of at least 45%. This is because men are more likely to be piolets where as women are more likely to work as cabin crew.
A- Proves that men are more likely to earn a higher salaries as traditional male jobs are paid higher than females.

E- More likely to work part time jobs
EX- Britians overall pay gap is 17.9% for part time and full time workers
A- This proves that females are more likely to earn a lower pay and have a part time job compared to men
C- Gender pay gap contributes to income inequalities to a moderate extent. Although women are expected to have part time jobs and look after families nowadays there has been an increase in stay at home dads instead of mums

EX- 4% of whites are unemployed compared to 7% of all other ethnic groups
A- Compared to whites, minorities have less chance of being employed due to language barriers
F- BAME groups living in rundown areas with poor schooling
E- Minorities are less likely to get good or any qualifications
EX- Blacks has the highest unemployment rate compared to any other ethnic groups
A- Proves that more poorer ethnic groups are more likely to face unemployment
C- Race and unemployment have contributes to income inequalities to a great extent. Minorities are more likely to get caught up in the poverty cycle

E- Richer children more inclined to attend private schools resulting in better grades
EX- Only 50% of the most deprived students stayed on in school in s4-s5 compared to 81% of least deprived
A- Proves that richer kids are more inclined to stay on at school and get better qualifications
F- Public school kids are also more likely to have less developed language skills than private school kids
Ex- 68% of more deprived pupils did well/very well in reading in S2 compared to 80% in least deprived in 2016.
A- Privileged pupils are expected too preform better language skills than less privileged pupils
C- Education contributes to income inequalities to a moderate extent. More support needs to be given to deprived students
