Service Industry- connecting producers to consumers to facilitate trade. Bankers, lawyers, teachers, doctors.
Quatenary
Information of the exchange of goods- stock broker, economist e.t.c
Quinary
This is tied into research or higher education- NASA physicist, cancer researcher.
Subsisitence Agriculture
This is when you grow food to feed yourself/ family and not for commercial purposes.
Shifting cultivation
A form of subsistence agriculture where farmers shift frequently from one field to another to farm new land. (humid tropics, west africa, s.e asia).
Slash and Burn agriculture
It is a method of cultivation where the farm or forest is cleared and then burned which helps fertilize crops.
Pastoral Nomadism
It is the herding of domesticated animals in dry climates where planting crops is impossible. (dry arid regions, middle east, north africa). subsistence
Livestock Ranching
The breeding of animals for food or clothing products. where livestock (usually cattle ) just roam around the land. (commercial)(Temperate dry regions e.g West North America, Central Asia, Sub Saharan Africa, pampas regions of South America.
Genetically modified organisms
A living thing with new genes created through biotechnology.
Organic Farming
Farming that depends on natural resources and does not use any synthethic chemical like pesticides, herbicides.
Desertification
Agricultural practices by humans that lead to loss of soil moisture, protective plant cover and allows deserts to spread.
Conservation tillage
When you lead the previous harvest on the feild and you don’t disturb he land or till it to reduce soil erosion.
