An autocracy is a country that is run according to the interests of the ruler rather than the people.
Sovereignty
Ability of a state to govern its territory free from control of its internal affairs by other states.

An otherwise compact state with a large projecting extension.

A nation that goes across many states.
Colonialism
An attempt by one country to establish settlements and to impose its political, economic, and cultural principles in another territory.

Theory developed by Immanuel Wallerstein that in an increasingly unified world economy developed countries form an inner core area whereas developing countries are found on the periphery and semi-periphery.
