Folk culture
It is traditionally practiced primarily by small, homogenous groups living in isolated rural areas.
Pop culture
found in large heterogenous(different) societies that share certain habits despite differences in other personal characteristics.
Material Culture
This is anything that can be seen on the landscape.
Nonmaterial Culture
Parts of the cultural landscape that cannot be physically touched.
Hierarchical Diffusion
idea spreads through a select few before going through the rest of people.
Assimilate
The process where people lose their traits like dressing, language, speech when they come in contact with another culture.
Culture
The total way of life of a group of people e.g language, dressing, ideas, religion.
Cultural Appropriation
Taking an aspect of a culture that isn’t yours and using it for your personal gain without giving credits to that culture.
Contagious Diffusion
the idea spreads out in all directions to all people. It spreads rapidly from person to person.
Ethnic Neighborhoods
An area within a city containing members of the same ethnic background.
Authenticity
Evaluating the degree of which a specific element of culture represents it’s original form.

The effects of distance on interaction, generally the greater the distance the less interaction
Relocation Diffusion
When people move from their hearth or one location and bring their culture with them.
Reterritorialization
making culture unique to a new territory

The visible imprint of human activity and culture on a landscape.
