how to carry out test?

A

draw a 10cm line on a piece of paper. At 0cm write ‘no pain’, at 10cm write ‘worst pain imaginable’.
Ask the patient to mark on the line where they feel their pain level is at currently.
Measure from 0 to their mark in mm and record this result.
DO NOT SHOW THE PATIENT THEIR RESULT.
