conventus trahit in medios turbamque sonantem, et tumulum capit unde omnes longo ordine posset adversos legere et venientum discere vultus.

Answer 1

Anchises had spoken, and he drew his son and the Sibyl together into the middle of the gathering and the noisy crowd, and he selected a mound from which he could survey everyone face to face in a long line and become aquainted with the faces of those who came.
