Question 1

at pater Anchises penitus convalle virenti inclusas animas superumque ad lumen ituras lustrabat studio recolens, omnemque suorum forte recensebat numerum, carosque nepotes fataque fortunasque virum moresque manusque.

Answer 1

But father Anchises, deep within a green valley, was reviewing the souls [who were] confined [there] and about to go to the light of the world above, surveying them with zeal, and by chance was counting the whole number of his family, his beloved descendants and the destinies and fortunes of the men, and their customs and [works of] their hands.

isque ubi tendentem adversum per gramina vidit Aenean, alacris palmas utrasque tetendit, effusaeque genis lacrimae et vox excidit ore:
