huc omnis turba ad ripas effusa ruebat, matres atque viri defunctaque corpora vita magnanimum heroum, pueri innuptaeque puellae, impositique rogis iuvenes ante ora parentum:
The whole crowd spread far and wide was rushing hither to the banks, mothers and husbands, bodies of high-souled heroes who have completed their lifespan, boys and unmarried girls and young men placed on funeral pyres before the faces of their parents:
