VIE theory/ expectancy theory (Vroom)

What does it stand for

A
  • Valance: Emotional orientations which people hold with respect to outcomes (rewards)
  • Expectancy: employees different expectations and levels of confidence about their capabilities.
  • Instrumentality: The perception of employees whether they will actually receive what they desire, even if it was promised
