Section 4 - Victim
- a person against whom an offence is committed by another person
- suffers physical injury, or loss of, or damage to property
- a parent or legal guardian of above
- a member of immediate family of a person who as a result of offence dies or is rendered incapable.

Treat victim with courtesy and compassion
Respect for dignity and privacy
Section 8 - Access to services
welfare, health, counselling, medical or legal needs.
Be responsive to their needs
Section 11 - Information
Given information about programmes, remedies or services available.
Section 12 - About proceedings
A victim must asap be given info about progress of investigation and key steps in prosecution case
Section 29 - Serious offences against victims
- sexual assaults
- serious assaults
- death or incapable
- fears for safety or security or self or family members
Section 30 - Victim views on bail
Victims views must be provided to court for release of bail.
Section 32 - Victim representative
Representative can be appointed by the victim
Section 34 - Release on Bail of accussed
Must advise victim of s29 offence immediately of bail and the conditions
Section 51 - Victim property
Must be returned as soon as practicable once no longer required for investigation.
Victim History Scorecard
Green - lower level victimisation
Amber - repeat victim or one off serious victimisation
Red - Serious victimisation & high risk victim
Graduated Response Model
Bronze - All victims receive this service. Follow appropriate crime type response. Victim support and other agency referrals. Check communication methods
Silver - Referral to partner agencies. Face to face prevention visit. Follow up phone call.
Gold - Visit by officer. Victim intervention plan. Directed patrols for area.
