Lymphoma - Staging

A

Stage 1: Single lymph nodes Stage 2: Multiple lymph nodes on the same side of the diaphgram Stage 3: Multiple lymph nodes on both sides of the diaphgram Stage 4: Splenic / Hepatic involvement Stage 5: Bone-marrow / Blood involvement *Sub-stage: A (No clinical signs) / B (with clinical signsl

Q

Mast Cell Tumor - Prognosis

A

Grade 3 / High - Months. Grade 1 / Low - 4-6 Years. Solitary mass with no lymph node metastasis - Excellent prognosis and surgery is often curative (Might need adjunctive chemotherapy depending on negative prognostic indicators) *Metastasis to local lymph node doesn’t necessarily worsen prognosis and depends on grading (As long as it is also removed). *Recurrence rate (1 year) - 10-30%. Hepatic / Splenic involvement - MST 4-6 Months

Q

Lymphoma - Prognostic indicators

A

Stage, Sub-stage (A vs. B), Grade (Histopathology), Immunophenotype (T-Cell vs. B-Cell), Small Cell Lymphoma vs. Large Cell Lymphoma, Specific locations (e.g. worse prognosis in primary hepatic, Cutaneous, Primary GI accompanied with clinical signs), Anemia, Hypercalcemia
