vesicles are tiny sacs that are bound by a single membrane. they form when a membrane buds off to enclose a substance

A
vesicles carry substances between membrane compartments via exocytosis ; where a vesicle fuses with the membrane and releases its contents out of the cell, or via endocytosis ; where a vesicle engulfs a substance, captures it and brings it into the cell
