Provide choice for meal times, bath times and activities.
Ensure service users are safeguarded.
How do we promote beliefs?
Meet cultural and religious dietary needs.
Meet different dietary preferences.
Provide a prayer room.
Celebrate a range of festivals.
Have displays that reflect cultures.
Respect beliefs regarding treatment or end of life care.
Why do we promote rights and beliefs?
Protect people from harm and abuse.
Equal and fair treatment.

Respected and valued.

How do we maintain confidentiality?
Store information in a locked cabinet or password protected computer.
Don’t gossip/talk about service users in a public area.
Have consultations/conversations in a private room.
Only share information on a ‘need to know’ basis.
Why do we maintain confidentiality?
No unauthorised people can access information.
No unauthorised people hear private conversations.
Give personal information to those also involved in the care of someone.
