Face validity

How do you carry out face validity for observations?
-psychologist looks to see if the behavior category measured what it is set out to measure
-this is at face value if yes it did that means it’s valid
How do you carry out concurrent validity for observations?
-comparing the results of a new observation with a preexisting observation where validity has been established.
-correlate the two sets of results it should exceed0.8+
-if the results are similar then the test is valid

-behavior categories are operationalized
-covert observation

Having a psychologist look to see if the questions ions used in the questionnaire measure what there set out to measure at face value

-compare the results of a new interview/questionnaire with a preexisting interview questionnaire where validity has been established. if the results are similar that means it’s valid it must exceed 0.8+
