Passive = given an immunoglobulin from another organism - e.g. a MAB drug specific to the virus or condition
Active = body equiped to produce immune response itself (vaccines)
Extremely infectious diseases require high immunisation rates in the community. Give an example

Live attenuated vaccine - produces life long immunity
Which vaccine is needed in pregnancy?
Pertussis (whooping cough)
+ have serology testing and see if any other boosters are needed
Can you get any vaccines for free?
Yes - on NIP
Also influenza vaccine if you meet certain criteria (but has to be given through GP)
Why do you need a HPV vaccine?
Because the human papilloma virus can cause cervical cancer.
