Spasms posteriorly
- Lower intercostals T11-T12
- Erectors T11-T12
- Periaxial spinals T11-T12
Kidney - Afferent
Pain overlying segments T6-T12, mainly at T11-T12
Ureters - Efferent
Tension
Anteriorly
- Int/Ext Obliques
- Cremaster
- Transversus abdominis
Posteriorly
- Lumbosacral erectors
- Periaxial spinals mostly on affected side T9-L2
Ureters - Afferent
Pain
- Lumbosacral area
- Radiation outward around iliac crest into groin, scrotum and down medial thigh
(pain can involve the sural cutaneous nerve, which may create pain in the same side heel)
Ureters - Craniosacral
Severe cases of renal colic nausea and vomiting may be seen
Bladder - Efferent
Spasms
Anterior
- lower fibers of rectus abdominis just over the pubis
Posterior
- lower lumbar erectors
- periaxial spinals at T11-L2
Bladder - Afferent
Pain
-over anterior abdominal wall just above pubic symphysis
- over buttocks near median raphe
- In perineum radiating down over scrotum or labia
Bladder - Craniosacral
Mainly GI in nature due to vagal nerve
Uterus - Efferent
Muscular rigidity may be found in
- rectus abdominis
- Periaxials of T10-L2
Uterus - Afferent
Pain
Anterior
- Lower Abdo
- Area of skin in areolar tissue and nipples
Posteriorly
- Lower lumbar area
- Area over sacrum and buttocks
- Skin of perineum and thigh
Uterus - Craniosacral
Mainly GI in nature due to vagal nerve
Kidney- Roots
T10-L1
Ureters- Roots
T10-L2
S2-S3
Urinary bladder- Roots
T11-L2
S2-S4
Uterus- Roots
T10-L2
S2-S3
