Q

What is the male gamete in plants?

A

Pollen grain

19
Q

Where is the male gamete produced in plants?

A

In the anther

20
Q

What is the female gamete in plants?

A

Ovule

21
Q

Where is the female gamete produced in plants?

A

In the ovary

22
Q

What does a fertilised ovule divide into to form?

A

A seed

23
Q

Explain how fertilisation occurs in plants.

A

When a pollen grain lands on the stigma, a pollen tube grows down to the ovary. The pollen grain nucleus then travels down to the ovary where fertilisation occurs. The fertilised ovule will then divide to form a seed.
