Great Railroad Strike 1877

A

Railroads were really rising. Government gave SO MUCH money to railroad companies: Land grants and subsidies
EAST AND WEST WERE SO EASILY accessible
- Covered in gold but was a turd underneath
-Railroad workers were cutting wages to save money during a economical recession
Unionized railroad workers went on strike to protest their workers pay
Protest grew so big that the federal government had to come in and respond by sending in troops.
However, this worked and railroad corporations began to negotiate to improve working conditions
