deskilling, the process where jobs become simpler because of it gets broken down into simpler more repetitive jobs; machines take over complex tasks.
Assembly line is a mass market method where products are put together in a sequence with each worker performing a specific task.
Trust
A business arrangement where multiple businesses are controlled by a single board. This is basically a monopoly. This reduces competition and increases profit.

Taylorism: aimed to optimize efficiency by first observing workers to see which ones they excelled at. He would time them and had them finish a certain tasks in a set amount of time.

Unionized railroad workers went on strike to protest their workers pay
Protest grew so big that the federal government had to come in and respond by sending in troops.
However, this worked and railroad corporations began to negotiate to improve working conditions
Knights of Labor
A national union that had the main goal to destroy all trust and monopolies. and the abolition of child labor.
Haymarket 1866
A riot where knights gathered at haymarket to protest.
However a bomb exploded and the American public associated the bombing with knights of labor.
This caused the union movement to shit perspectives. THEY WERE NOW ALL SEEN AS RADICAL AND DANGEROUS
