What is ANC?
Absolute Neutrophil Count - Number of white blood cells that are neutrophils - Used to check for infection inflammation, leukemia, and other conditions.
What is aPTT/PTT?
Activated partial thromboplastin Time - Number of seconds it takes for a clot to form in a sample of blood after substances are added to it. - Used to monitor heparin anticoagulant therapy.
What is BMP?
Basic Metabolic Panel - Levels of calcium, carbon, dioxide, chloride, creatinine, glucose, potassium, sodium, and blood nitrogen (BUN) - Used to screen for conditions such as diabetes or kidney disease.
What is BG?
Blood glucose - Amount of glucose in the blood - Used to screen for diabetes
What is BUN?
Amount of urea nitrogen in the blood (a waste product formed in the liver)
What is CRP?
C-Reactive Protein - Amount of C-reactive protein in the blood - Used to detect inflammation in the body such as heart conditions, infections, and cancer
What is CBC?
Complete Blood Count - Components and features of blood (Red/white cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and plateletes) - Used to diagnose conditions such as anemia, infections, and cancer.
What Chem 14/CMP?
Comprehentisve metabolic Panel - Levels of glucose, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, albumin, globulin, total protein, alanine, aminotransferase(ALT), Alkaline Phosphatase(ALP), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), sodium, potassium, carbon dioxide, calcium, and chloride - Used to screen for diabetes, monitor electrolyte and fluid balance, and determine kidney and liver funtion.
What is CK, CPK?
Creatinine Kinase or creatinine phosphokinase - Amount of creatine kinase in the blood - Used to detect and monitor muscle damage.
What is a digoxin level test?
Amount of digoxin in the blood - Used to monitor therapeutic or toxic levels of digoxin
What is an Electrolyte Panel?
Levels of electrolytes in blood including, sodium, potassium, chloride, and carbon dioxide - Used to detect conditions that can cause electrolyte imbalance
What is Free T3, Total T3?
Amount of free triiodothyronine (T3) or total T3 in the blood. - Used to detect on monitor thyroid diseae
What is Hct?
(Hematocrit) Percentage of the total blood volume that is made up by red blood cells -
What is Hgb?
(Hemoglobin) Amount of hemoglobin in the blood -
What is A1C
(Hemoglobin A1C) Average amount of glucose in the blood over the last 2 to 3 months
