Environmental Anthropology
Study of relations between humans and the environment Ex: Ogden study of everglades
Ogden
Environmental anthropologist. Studied Florida everglades, exploring lives of gladesmen (alligator hunter) and their way of life being disrupted by governmental changing land for conservation and real estate purposes.
Teaiwa
Environmental anthropologist that studied the impact of phosphate mining on Banaba Island. Mining destroyed much of the island and the Banaban people were forced out their homeland by the British.
Multispecies ethnography
Research on the interactions of all species living on the planet. Obtain a more than human perspective.
Climate Change
Global warming by increased greenhouse gases through the burning of fossil fuels. Changes in the atmosphere ex: melting of glaciers, rising sea levels
Climate migrants
People who are displaced by global warming.
Sustainability
Refers to a society capabilities of reproducing itself indefinitely without undermining the conditions for its own existence.
