What happens during the ‘asocial attachment’ stage?
Most babies respond indiscriminately to any caregiver. They’ll act the same, how they want, towards anyone that goes their way.
What happens during the ‘indiscriminate attachment’ stage?
Infants can distinguish between they ‘personal care giver’ (PCG) and others though the infant will accept care from other people.
What happens during the ‘specific attachment’ stage?
The infant looks for security from particular people (familiar or PCG) for comfort and protection. The baby will show fear of strangers and unhappiness when separated from PCG. Some infants are more likely to display fear of strangers and deeper anxiety than others.
What happens during the ‘multiple attachment’ stage?
The baby will start to become more independent and form several relationships, known otherwise as multiple attachments.
