Begin to make babbling noises as they learn to control the muscles associated with speech.

Begin to imitate sounds made by parents (carers), such as ‘dada’. This then develops into using single words.
Language Acquisition during Infancy: At 2 Years, explain what happens?
They being to make 2 word sentences and build their vocabulary.
Language Acquisition during Infancy: At 3 Years, explain what happens?
Begin to form simple sentences, like ‘I want drink’. Their ability to ask questions will grow and knowledge of vocabulary grows.
Language Acquisition during Infancy: At 4 Years, explain what happens?
Begin to use clear sentences that can be understood by strangers though can be expected to make some mistakes with grammar.
Language Acquisition during Infancy: At 5 Years, explain what happens?
Can speak using full adult grammar. Vocabulary will continue to grow.
