Self esteem and confidence can increase with age as they’re found to be more settled and achieved many life goals.
How does aging affect older people socially?
Retirement serves as an opportunity for more contact with relatives.
A sense of responsibility arises as they head of the family.
They may find it difficult to adjust to change of their children maturing.
How can the death and loss of a partner affect someone?
Result in anxiety and depression.
Loss of safety or security.
Despair
Difficult to adjust to their absence.

Isolation

What does retirement serve?
It provides older people with more leisurely time.
Provides freedom.
How can retirement negatively impact someone?
It can result in a loss of income and purpose for life.
