The task of psychology is to analyze consciousness into its basic elements and investigate how those elements are related.

Behaviorism
Reinforcement and punishment based on our own actions (Depression can be learned and unlearned).

Humanism
A reflection of internal growth, as humans are basically good and can reach perfection (Depression is caused by not meeting goals).
Neurobiological
Focuses on the changes in the brain’s chemistry (Depression is caused by growing up and is hereditary).
Socio-cultural
Strongly influences by the rules and expectations of specific social groups or cultures (Depression is caused by factors such as gender, money, and ethnicity).
Cognitive
Behavior is a product of various internal sentences, thoughts, or mental processes (Depression is caused by overthinking and/or a negative mindset).
Evolutionary
Examines behavioral processes in terms of their adaptive value for members of a species over the course of many generations (Depression is caused by a changing environment and the inability to adapt to it).
