- Low life expectancy –> many people die older, leaving a youthful and dependent pop

- More people = more competition for housing –> smaller houses and lower QOL
- Harder for healthcare and edu to cope with –> kids won’t get as educated (school life expectancy is 10 years)
- Lesser future job availability
- Families spend more money on food and education –> less left for other things
